Class Description

Recreational Gymnastics

Recreational gymnastics classes are for school-aged girls and boys who are interested in learning the basics of the sport in a fun and noncompetitive environment. Classes are arranged somewhat by age; however, within each class, students are grouped by skill level. Instruction is provided on each piece of gymnastics apparatus and all students participate in basic stretching and conditioning.

Kinder Gym: Ages 3.0 and Up

Pre-K and K students enjoy tumbling, beam, bars, vault, wedges, octagon, obstacle course, music and fun all done on pre-school equipment.

The coaches provide a fun, positive safe and colorful world in which gymnastic can be enjoyed. Classes are entertaining and pressure free.

Every semester there's an optional small competition (Mini-Meet) for all Pre-K and K students to participate in.

Beginner: Ages 6 and Up

Students enjoy fitness, tumbling, beam, bars, vault, obstacle course, music and fun.

We teach the USA Gymnastics curriculum.

Every semester there's an optional small competition (Mini-Meet) for all Beginners students to participate in.

HOTSHOTS Hot Shots (Students are selected by invitation only)

It is designed for gymnasts age 4-6 who have demonstrated natural ability, focus and passion for gymnastics.

Children will participate in skills & drills to prepare them for competitive gymnastics.

The program meets 2 times a week and allows our young gymnasts a jump start to PreTEAM or TEAM program.

Every semester there's an optional small competition (Mini-Meet) for all HOTSHOTS students to participate in.

NOLA PreTEAM (Students are selected by invitation only)

This class prepares students for TEAM programs.

Invited students may choose once a week or twice a week option.

Pre-TEAM gymnasts work more seriously on skill perfection than in our recreational program, and spend considerable time improving strength and flexibility.

On average, girls spend 1-2 years on the Pre-TEAM level before advancing to the TEAM level.

Every semester there's an optional small competition (Mini-Meet) for all Kinder Gym students to participate in.

PreTeam does not require travel or additional costs.

Competitive Gymnastics

Competitive gymnastics is not for everyone, but it is very rewarding for those who aspire to challenge themselves. Girls who are interested in competitive gymnastics have several options at NOLA Gymnastics. Every year, we offer an Artistic TEAM and a ACRO TEAM programs. The skill level and time commitment vary depending on the program.

NOLA Artistic TEAM (Students are selected by invitation only)

Artistic Gymnastics involves the vault, beam, bars, and floor exercise. Artistic meets will take place between November to March. We also perform each year one of the Newman Football Halftime Shows usually in October.

Girls will compete in USAG Level 1-4 against other gymnastic clubs in Louisiana.

Artistic Team gymnasts come to class twice a week.

Generally, gymnasts are invited to join the Artistic Team after mastering skills through our Pre-Team program.

Artistic Team requires travel and additional costs like USA Gymnastics membership, uniforms and meet entry fees.

NOLA Acro TEAM (Junior & Senior) (Students are selected by invitation only)

ACRO GYMNASTICS is a discipline of gymnastics where the gymnast performs a choreographed routine to music and works with partners in a pair, trio or quad, like Cirque du Soleil.

Junior & Senior gymnasts will compete in USAG Local, State, Regional and National Championships in Levels 7 and up.

Acro Team gymnasts come to class 3 times a week.

Generally, gymnasts are invited to join the Acro Team after mastering skills through our Pre-Team program.

Acro Team requires travel and additional costs like USA Gymnastics membership, uniforms, meet entry fees, choreography, hotels, coach expenses.
